Governor Easley expands his nationally recognized Learn and Earn high schools statewide so the program can reach every student in every corner of the state. Learn and Earn is revolutionary because it allows students to jump-start their college education or gain high-level career skills without the burden of any tuition charges. Learn and Earn allows students to attend a high school located on a college campus, and in no more than five years, students can earn a high school diploma and finish with two years of college credit or earn an associate's degree, at no cost!
Currently there are 41 Learn and Earn high schools across the state. By the fall of 2008 there will be 70 Learn and Earn schools. The information below lists the Learn and Earn high schools that are currently open along with their website links.
If you have any questions about Learn and Earn high schools please contact Tabitha Grossman, Director for Learn and Earn, tgrossman@newschoolsproject.org or by phone at 919.277.3767.

“Rutherford Early College High School, a Learn and Earn school, has been an amazing opportunity for me. Taking college classes and still having one-on-one help while accomplishing so much is an incredible blessing.”
“My name is Jamar Sampson and this is my second year at Cross Creek Early College High School-a 'learn and earn school.' The school's high expectations have encouraged me to improve my study habits and to thrive for a better future. This program has helped to develop my overall character.”
“Cross Creek will benefit me in the long run. It has given me
so many opportunities like being able to go to college and to be the first in
my family to graduate. It is like another family at school that supports me
whenever I need it.”
“Our
students know that their teachers care about them, not just
academically but also personally. Our high expectations, coupled with
the support that is vital for their success, helps all our students do
well.”
